” In 2017, I was responsible for the design of the Beursgebouw, the new location of the RUG’s 11th faculty, Campus Fryslân. My supervisor and I were looking for a unique sustainable statement within our new faculty building. Then I came into contact with Louise Cohen, a sustainable doer and visionary. She was working on a new concept, Upcycle furniture: the perfect combination of style and sustainability. “Each piece is unique, just like your students”, was her credo.

This refurbished ”old junk” also fits exactly into the objective of our special education. We look for local solutions to Global problems within the faculty, and this vision fits perfectly with sustainable furniture. In April 2018 the building was completed and we were the first company to enjoy the beautiful UPCYCLE COLLECTION, specially adapted to the house colors of Campus Fryslân.“
